Decluttering Tips - July 27, 2019

Are you sick and tired of living in a small, cramped up space? We would all love to live in a five-bedroom, six-bathroom mansion, but that’s just wishful thinking. Just because you can’t finance a luxurious lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to live in a space that will suffocate you. There are many ways to approach the prospect of expanding your living space without going bankrupt after it. Whether you are already living in a home you want to expand or are moving to Massachusetts and into a brand new house, these few tips might turn out to be lifesavers. We sure hope they will!

Think outside the box

Do you have a big yard that’s just being wasted? Or perhaps you are using it for storing the old items you are not quite ready to throw just yet. If those items are massive, like a piano, you have a pretty big problem on your hands. In that situation, first, call up junk piano removal specialists, and then focus on expanding your home.

Creating an outdoor room is one of the easiest ways to add more square footage to your home. And it’s also one of the most profitable ways for the future, and in case you ever decide to sell your home. Whether you put a patio set, build a sunroom, or do something else entirely, you’ll certainly improve the situation inside of your home. Hey, maybe you can even use the newly-constructed outdoor room as a storage space. That would be a great way to get rid of junk and improve the functionality of your home.

You’ll be surprised how much you can expand your living space by simply cleaning and decluttering

It sounds too simple, doesn’t it? And something so simple can’t possibly be effective, right? Of course, it can – you’ll just have to see it to believe it. Mind you that we are not referring to simple cleaning and throwing away some trash you see in your way – we are thinking more among the lines of completely going over your house from top to bottom, and keeping only those things you absolutely find imperative.

You’ll be surprised how much space you’ll free up this way! It will breathe in a breath of fresh air into every room, not to mention how much it will expand your overall living space. And there are a plethora of things you can do with the items you decide to get rid of. From throwing together a yard sale to donating them, you certainly don’t lack options.

Utilize the unfinished space

We don’t know what type of house you have. But, whichever type it is, we are sure you have either a basement or an attic. Usually, these two rooms are held in a complete mess. It’s simply because we are too busy or too uninterested to do something smart with the space we have. However, once expanding your living space becomes your goal, this is what we advise you to do – make an effort to use the space you have!

Oftentimes, people do a complete transformation of their basements and create a game room or another living room. And as for the attack, you can easily turn it into another bedroom, or even a separate condo. The only obstacles standing between the new and improved space and you are all the junk items that can usually be found in these rooms. Get on your phone, rent a dumpster, declutter these spaces, and turn them into something useful. You will be glad you did so!

Make your rooms have a double function

Don’t get us wrong. We are not suggesting you combine two totally different functions into one, like a room functioning as a bathroom and a kitchen. We all know that would be ludicrous. But, there is no reason why your bedroom can’t perform double duty and function as an office at the same time. It will save you from having to use a separate room for your office, and that’s a room you can later use for something else, like a nursery. Sometimes, expanding your living space means just having to rationalize the space you already have. And, at other times, it means having to spend some money in order to do it.

Adding more square footage is the best way to approach expanding your living space

But, as you know it, it’s also the most expensive one. Adding another room, no matter how small that room ends up being, will be an expensive endeavor. The fact that it’s also a time-consuming one seems to bear less importance when you take into consideration how much money you’ll have to pay for adding just 15 square meters to your house. Although, if you are looking for an investment that will give you the best options for the future, this is the place to go. Even just one square meter will raise the value of your house should you decide to sell it. In the world we live in, you have to admit that you can never know when you might move and find yourself in need of residential movers MA.

So, have you gotten a few good ideas? We hope we’ve helped you find a solution that will be suitable for your needs and conditions. Expanding your living space seems like a big hassle and that’s probably why you’ll be putting it off for as long as possible. But, sooner or later, you’ll have to deal with this task. You’ll be sorry you waited for so long once you see how easy it actually is.
