Take the mallet and tap the protruding side while grabbing them with pliers from the other side and pulling them out. You can apply this to both lower and upper bunk.

Step 4- Time for removal of side rails and boards

When the dowels are out, patiently tap on the headboard above the leg and rail joint and remove the side rail. That way you will separate all four joints and you can put headboard, footboard and two side rails against the wall.

Step 5- Safety rail

In most cases, bunk beds are used for children, so it must be protected with a safety rail for the upper bed. You can easily detach it by unscrewing them from the outer side rail of the upper bunk.
